As of 1^st September 2009, the waiver of visa requirements between Romania and Japan commences. Romanian nationals holding valid passports are not required to obtain a visa for short-term stays (90 days or less) for such purposes as sightseeing and business trips. However, cases involving paid activities in Japan are excluded.
