■ Evening Concert – An Evening of Music and Song -
From 7pm on Friday 29 July, the Consulate General of Japan in Edinburgh will host an evening concert ‘An Evening of Music and Song’ at St Mary’s Cathedral. There will be performances from a singing group Nightingale and a talented Japanese pianist Kimihiro Yasaka.
Nightingale is an international singing group based in Edinburgh. They sing mainly Japanese songs, but also classic songs in the languages of the composers and other international songs in the languages of origins.
Mr Yasaka is from Nagasaki prefecture and has performed at many festivals in North America after studying piano in Canada. Within his various repertoires, he devotes his energy into contemporary music. In July 2014, he won a prize at IBLA GRAND PRIZE in Italy.
