■ National Day Reception 2015 NEW
On Wednesday December 2nd, the Consulate General of Japan held a reception to celebrate the birthday of the Emperor of Japan. The Japanese national anthem was played to mark the start of the reception, and Consul General, Mr Kitaoka offered the opening remarks. This was followed by speeches by special guests, Mr. Humza Yousaf, Minister for Europe and International Development, and Ms. Elaine Smith, Deputy Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament.
The reception was well attended by guests from a wide range of disciplines including government officials and members of the Consular Corps, and was considered a great success.
