Wind Energy For the Future” Report NEW

On Thursday, March 24th, 2016, a lecture on renewable energy (specifically, wind energy) was held at the University of Edinburgh in cooperation with the Consulate General of Japan. The speaker for the night was Mr. Keita Ishimitsu, a Senior Project Manager at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Europe, Ltd.

An audience ranging from students to specialists listened keenly to the lecture, during which Mr. Ishimitsu, who is involved with Mitsubishi’s off-shore wind project in Hunterston, Scotland, introduced the wind energy market, and the current state and future prospects for wind energy technology.

Mr. Ishimitsu’s presentation was followed by a lively Q & A session, which revealed the high level of interest surrounding renewables in Scotland. The lecture not only helped deepen understanding of Japan in Scotland, but to also strengthen links between Japanese and Scottish industry groups.
