International Scout Camp “The Blair Atholl Jamborette” is taking place at the camp ground of the Blair Castle in Perthshire from 19 July until 29 July. Mainly accommodating the scouts from Scotland, the Camp holds nearly 1,000 scouts from various countries. The scouts engage in international exchanges through different activities such as rock-climbing, fishing, canoeing, bread making, and crafting.
There are 9 scouts and 2 of their leaders from Iwate prefecture of Japan whom the Consul General Mr Matsunaga visited on Monday 25 July. All of the participants from Japan seemed to be enjoying the various outdoor activities with the fellow scouts from many countries including Scotland by trying at their best to communicate with them in English. This Camp is held every 2 years, and it deepens the friendship and mutual understanding among the scouts from many different countries.
