Courtesy call to the First Minister of Scotland, Rt Hon Nicola Sturgeon MSP (25th September)

On the 25th September Consul General Nozomu Takaoka made a courtesy call to the First Minister of Scotland, Rt Hon Nicola Sturgeon MSP. The historic relations between Japan and Scotland; as well as ongoing political, economic and cultural exchanges were discussed. Additionally, they shared views on the importance of promoting bilateral cooperation further. The Consul General predicted that Japan would avenge Scotland by defeating Ireland in their 2019 Rugby World Cup match—which became reality two days later.
