Fringe Performance – Shoko Seki, “Deadline”

2017/8/4
We would like to introduce an artist performing at the Edinburgh Fringe who made a courtesy call on Consul General Mr Matsunaga on August 3rd.

Japanese contemporary dancer Shoko Seki will make her debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year. Shoko Seki, who has been dancing since she was five, has travelled to Edinburgh from her hometown of Dazaifu City, Fukuoka, Japan to bring her work to the festival. From August 4th – 28th she will be performing her solo show, “Deadline”, a part-choreographed, part-improvised piece exploring karoushi, the Japanese phenomenon of death through overwork.

If you have the opportunity, please go and see the show; this is sure to be an interesting performance exploring one of Japan’s most current issues.
