Fringe Performance by Busu Theatre, “Busu and the Damask Drum”
2017/8/22

This time we introduce Busu Theatre, a group of Japanese comical performers whose show is on at Venue231, 1b Royal Terrace, EH7 5AB, until August 26th.
Mr Tsuruoka, Ambassador of Japan to the United Kingdom, Mrs Tsuruoka, the Consul General and Mrs Matsunaga had the opportunity to go and watch the show.
The show is bursting with individuality, and the cast perform in the style of the traditional Japanese performing arts kyogen (a type of comedy) and Noh based on scripts written by Japanese author and playwright Yukio Mishima. The kyogen play is “Busu”, while the Noh play is “The Damask Drum”.
This show is a must-see if you are interested in Japanese traditional performing arts, and we hope you have the opportunity to go along and watch!
