Notice: Premier screening of “Over the Sky” at Robert Gordon University 12/10/2018

On Friday 12th October, Dr Leslie Mabon from the Environment and Society Group in the School of Applied Social Studies at Robert Gordon University will hold a screening of the film “Over the Sky”. The film documents the Haramachi Daiichi Junior High School Brass band and their teacher Ms Abe. Along with the other residents, these pupils and their teacher were forced to evacuate their home in Minamisoma City in Fukushima Prefecture following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake.
Before the film Dr Mabon will give an introduction to Minamisoma City based on his ongoing research in the city.
The film’s director and photographer Toko Shiiki will be flying over from America for the European premiere of her film, and will hold a Q&A reception afterwards.
