2019/2/13

On February 2nd a Foreign Minister’s Commendation for 2018 was conferred on Mr Callum Farquhar in a ceremony in conjunction with the Japan Society of Scotland Annual General Meeting at the University of Edinburgh.

Following a speech from Consul General Nozomu Takaoka detailing Mr Farquhar’s achievements mainly on his contribution to Japan-UK relations through scout activities, the award was presented. Mr Farquhar gave his speech of thanks. Mr Farquhar also explained his revisit of Iwate prefecture last August and provided an update with some photos on the current reconstruction of Iwate prefecture, which was badly affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011.

Mr Farquhar was joined by the other members of the society who celebrated the conferment ceremony. It was a pleasure to meet again with the Scottish Japan Association, and join them celebrating the achievements of Mr. Farquhar.
