Glasgow Afghan United’s Burns Night (20th January)

On the 20th January, Consul General Takaoka attended a Burn’s Supper hosted by Glasgow Afghan United, in Glasgow’s City Chambers.
Words of condolences and appreciation to the late Dr. Tetsu Nakamura were conveyed to Consul General Takaoka from Said Jawad, Ambassador of Afghanistan to the U.K., and Mr. Abdul Bostani of Afghan United.
Robert Burns and 13th Century Afghani poet Rumi Masnavi are both towering figures of their respected national literature and whose spirits are a source of national pride.
Glasgow’s Lord Provost Philip Braat and Bob Doris MSP also participated in the supper.
