Visit with the Rt. Hon Alison Johnstone, Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament (4th May 2022)

On the 4th of May, Consul General Tadashi Fujiwara paid a visit to The Rt. Hon Alison Johnstone, Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament. With Scotland aiming for net-zero emissions by 2045, they exchanged views on the role of Japanese environmental technology in achieving this goal.
Afterwards, a ginkgo bonsai tree was exhibited in parliament. This bonsai had special significance, as it was grown from the seeds of a ginkgo tree that had survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. All in attendance appreciated the bonsai, which was introduced with the iniative of Bill Kidd MSP.
