At the invitation of Dr. Lisa Cameron MP, Consul General Tadashi Fujiwara participated in a dedication ceremony of the UK-Japan Sakura Project at Strathhaven Park, South Lanarkshire. Already home to 40 cherry blossom trees, the park has a wide range of facilities appealing to all ages and has been recognised as Scotland’s people’s  park on several occasions.

The Consul General and Dr. Cameron, who plans to visit Japan as a member of the UK-Japan 21st Century Group, exchanged views on future cultural programmes and the expansion of Japanese investment in Scotland following the pandemic, as well as increased educational and cultural interaction.

Photography at the event was provided by Les Hogan Photography.
