On May 31st 2022, Consul General Tadashi Fujiwara attended a dinner for Members of the Scottish Parliament and the Scottish Consular Corps at the Scottish Parliament, which was hosted by the Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament, the Rt Hon. Alison Johnstone MSP. It has been some time since the Annual Consular Corps’ Burns Supper at the Scottish Parliament was last held in January 2020 as it has been postponed due to the pandemic, meaning the event’s return was keenly anticipated.

On the night, over 27 MSPs and members of the Scottish Parliament's senior management group joined the diplomats in attendance, allowing deep and meaningful exchange on a range of topics. Consul General Fujiwara was seated at the same table as Alison Johnstone MSP, with the two sharing views on Scotland-Japan relations and the Scottish Government`s response to recent global events.
