Report - Conferment ceremony on the occasion of Lady Sarah Nicholson being awarded the Foreign Minister’s Commendation for FY 2021

On June 30th, Consul General Tadashi Fujiwara conferred a Foreign Minister’s Commendation for 2021 onto Lady Sarah Nicholson at a ceremony held at the official residence. In Consul General Fujiwara’s address, he detailed Lady Nicholson’s achievements and contributions to Japan-UK relations. Lady Nicholson hosted lunches and events on behalf of the North England Japanese Woman’s Association, making Japanese wives to feel welcome and integrate easier within local communities. Sarah gave a speech in Japanese in which she expressed her gratitude for the award and her hopes for the continued growth of the relationship between Japan and the UK. Lady Nicholson was joined by her friends and family in a friendly and intimate ceremony to mark the occasion.
