Pre-Departure Orientation for JET Programme Participants 2022 (22nd July 2022)
2022/7/28
On Friday 22nd July 2022, the pre-departure orientation for 2022’s JET participants was held at the University of Edinburgh. Consul-General Tadashi Fujiwara made a short speech to congratulate the participants on passing the selection process, as well as expressing his hope that they will gain many valuable experiences during their time in Japan and will become a bridge for cultural exchange between Japan and Scotland. This was followed by a presentation by former JET participant Ms. Charlotte Boswell, who worked as an ALT at schools in Hikari, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Ms. Boswell shared her experiences with the new participants, as well as giving them advice and guidance on how best to adapt to their new roles in Japan.
The participants will depart from Edinburgh airport on the 13th of August and, after a short period of training in Tokyo, will be assigned to their respective schools in various parts of Japan.
