Video Message from Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Keiko Nagaoka to the Edinburgh International Culture Summit 2022 (27th August)

From the 26th until the 28th of August, the Edinburgh International Culture Summit 2022 was held, with global leaders and experts from both national and local governments, NGOs, and civil society participating.
 
On the 27th, Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Keiko Nagaoka participated virtually, sending a video message. She introduced Japan’s efforts in transferring arts education to the Agency for Cultural Affairs, as well as ensuring opportunities for children to experience culture and the arts and the use of ICT in arts education. Emphasising the importance of art and culture in fostering children’s creativity and their sense of humanity, she stated “Japan will resume, continue, and develop these cultural and artistic activities while securing opportunities for children to experience the arts and culture and further enhancing education”.
