Attendance at The Rt. Hon Alison Johnstone, Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament’s Burn Supper (25th January 2023)

On Wednesday, January 25, Consul General Tadashi Fujiwara was invited to attend the Burns Supper hosted by The Rt. Hon Alison Johnstone, Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament. Burns' most famous poem, "Auld Lang Syne," is popularly known as "Hotaru no Hikari" or “Glow of a firefly” in Japan. The Burns Supper celebrates the life and poetry of Robert Burns, Scotland's national poet, and is held on Burns' birthday (January 25, 1759).

Through the event, Consul General Fujiwara deepened exchanges with Ms. Johnstone, and other members of the Scottish Parliament and staff of the Parliamentary Secretariat who attended the supper.
