Opening of Japanese Curry Menu Development Workshop (6th February 2023)

On Monday the 6th of February, Consul General Tadashi Fujiwara attended the opening of a Japanese curry menu development workshop in Edinburgh. The seminar was organized by the All Japan Curry Industry Association and the Organization for the Promotion of Japanese Restaurants Abroad as a project subsidized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and supported by the Tokyo National Museum. The seminar began with opening remarks by Consul General Fujiwara and President Hama of the Japanese Culinary Academy UK, followed by a lecture on curry roux by representatives from S&B Foods and House Foods, and then a demonstration of curry with ume (plum) wine by Chef Kozo Makita, who has a restaurant in Paris. The event was attended by about 30 people, including owners, chefs, and employees of restaurants serving Japanese food mainly in Edinburgh, and ended with a tasting of the curry prepared by Chef Makita. |
