Attendance at Celtic vs Hearts on the Invitation of Scottish Development International (8th March 2023)

On Wednesday the 8th of March, Consul General Tadashi Fujiwara attended a Scottish Premier League match between Celtic FC and Heart of Midlothian FC at the invitation of Scottish Development International. Both clubs have Japanese players in their squad, with five featuring at Celtic and another at Hearts.
In addition to Mr. Mark Hallan, Global Head of Inward Investment, and Mr. Stephen Baker, Japan Representative from SDI, seven representatives of Japanese companies operating in Scotland were also in attendance, indicating the high regard and expectations of the Scottish side for Japanese investment. During the match, Celtic’s Kyogo Furuhashi scored his 20th goal in the league this season, while Daizen Maeda also appeared on the scoresheet. Celtic's Tomoki Iwata and Hearts' Yutaro Oda also made appearances during the match. The Japanese players were outstanding, with many local fans praising their performances during the contest.
