On the 10th of October 2023, Consul General Tadashii Fujiwara visited the University of Edinburgh to be shown a brief, and view facilities related to, the Data-Driven Innovation Hub.
The University of Edinburgh has six data-driven innovation hubs. There are the National Robotarium dealing with robotics and autonomous systems, Bayes Centre dealing with space, satellites and digital technologies, the Easter Bush AgriTech Hub, Usher Institute dealing with health and social care, Edinburgh Futures Institute dealing with financial services and FinTech, creative and tourism, and public sector, and the Edinburgh International Data Facility which is home to the UK's most powerful supercomputer, ARCHER2.

These hubs have partnered and collaborated with many Japanese companies and universities, and officials expressed their hope that this would continue and further deepen cooperation.
