Attendance at the Northeast England War Memorial Ceremony (4th November 2023)

On Saturday, November 4^th, Deputy Consul General Minori Ishii attended the North East Field of Remembrance Dedication Service held in Gateshead at the invitation of The Mayor of Gateshead, Councillor Eileen McMaster. The city of Gateshead, where the ceremony was held, is home to the Komatsu UK factory, which is a Japanese company, and has been a sister city to Komatsu City in Ishikawa Prefecture since 1991, making Gateshead a city with deep ties to Japan. After attending the memorial ceremony, Deputy Consul General Ishii met with Mayor McMaster and exchanged views on collaboration between Komatsu City and Gateshead City, and on future cooperation with Japan.
