Attendance at the Edinburgh International Festival Launching Reception (7th March 2024)

Consul General Fujiwara attended this year’s “Edinburgh International Festival” Launching Reception that was held on March 7th, an indication that spring is finally upon Edinburgh. Held since 1947, the festival’s theme this year is “Rituals That Unite Us”, and it will be held from August 2nd – 25th. Over 2000 artists from over 40 countries have arranged to participate, including Japanese violinist Midori Goto.

This year’s Launching had a higher number of attendants than last year, and the festival is expected to be more successful than last year as well.

Additionally, preparations are currently underway for many other events, such as the Military Tattoo, the Fringe Festival, and the Book Festival, as Edinburgh gets set to welcome a long festival season.
