Activity of the “World Rugby U20 Trophy” Japanese team (12th July 2024)

Consul General Fujiwara and his wife were invited by the Scottish Rugby Union to watch the “World Rugby U20 Trophy” matches of Japan versus Scotland and Japan versus Uruguay on the 12th and 17th of July respectively.

Although Japan had a disappointing result versus Scotland, they had a sweeping victory of 75-22 in the third-place match versus Uruguay. After the match on the 17th, the Consul General and his wife praised the efforts of the players and staff, and had the chance to engage in friendly conversation with World Rugby president Sir Beaumont and members of the Scottish Rugby Union as well.

Furthermore, Japanese referee Katsuki Furuse refereed the final match of Scotland versus the United States, after the Uruguay match had concluded.
