Visit by students from the Faculty of Economics at Yokohama National University (15th November 2024)

On the 15th November, Deputy Consul General Minori Ishii received a visit from four students from the Faculty of Economics at Yokohama National University  (YNU) during their visit to Scotland. She provided them with a briefing on the economic situation in Scotland, particularly regarding the activities of Japanese companies operating locally. The students, led by Professor McAulay and Associate Professor Sugimoto both from the Division of International Social Sciences, Faculty of International Social Sciences of YNU, stayed in Scotland for about a week, visiting the University of Edinburgh and the University of Glasgow where they interacted with students from those universities through presentations and discussions.
 
The briefing given by Deputy Consul General Ishii was highly interactive, with explanations of Scotland's economic indicators being given in the form of a quiz. After the briefing, there was a lively exchange of opinions, with participants asking an almost endless amount of questions.
