2024/12/19

On Tuesday December 10th, Consul General Fujiwara attended one of the Scottish Parliament Cross-Party Group on Japan’s regular meetings. The topic of discussion was the problem of an aging population. To properly examine Scotland’s aging population, the rapidly increasing problem in Japan was discussed, such as a project in Fukuoka City where people with dementia are encouraged to participate in society, including using judo techniques to combat fear and injury from falls. The Cross-Party Group on Japan is made up of members of parliament as well as non-members who have an interest in the country. Around ten people participated in person, and more than a dozen participated online as well.
