Attendance at the Japan Society of Scotland AGM (1st February 2025)

On Saturday 1st February, Deputy Consul General Minori Ishii attended the 38th Annual General Meeting of the Japan Society of Scotland. In her closing speech, Deputy Consul General Ishii reflected on events which the Society has hosted and supported, such as the Joe Honda Photography Exhibition at the Jim Clark Motorsport Museum, the JETAA Japan Summer Festival, and the private viewing of the Henry Dyer Collection. She expressed her gratitude to the Japan Society of Scotland for its long-standing contributions to promoting friendship between Japan and Scotland. She also congratulated the Society on their receipt of the Foreign Minister's Commendation for 2024, and stated her hope for continued partnership and cooperation with the Japan Society of Scotland.
 
Following the meeting, a talk entitled "Neil Gordon Munro: Connecting Scotland and the Ainu" was given by Daniel Goldie-Furlong, a recipient of the Society’s Thomas Blake Glover Scholarship.
