Meeting with Professor McArthur, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Strathclyde (27th March 2025)

On 27th March, Acting Consul General Minori Ishii visited the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and met with Professor Stephen McArthur, Associate Principal and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. The school has eight departments: Architecture, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical and Process Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Design, Manufacturing and Engineering Management, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and Naval Architecture, Ocean, and Marine Engineering. The university is ranked number one in the UK for Marine and Ocean Engineering and produces many highly qualified engineers. There are currently over 4,350 undergraduate and 270 postgraduate students studying in Strathclyde's Faculty of Engineering.
On the day, Dean McArthur gave Consul General Ishii an overview of the school's activities, after which the two exchanged views on the possibility of future collaboration within the industry.
