Consul General Takeda’s visit with the University of Edinburgh’s Principal (16th April 2025)

On April 16^th, Consul General Katsutoshi Takeda paid a visit to Professor Sir Peter Mathieson, the Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Edinburgh. The Principal mentioned that Edinburgh is the 6^th oldest university in the UK, after Oxford, Cambridge, St Andrews, Glasgow, and Aberdeen, but that it is the only one among these that was established due to the suggestion of citizens. He also talked about how the university will continue to be open and work together with its community. They spoke about the University’s ties to Japan and their commitment to cooperating in order to further these in the future.
