Courtesy visit to Lord Provost of Edinburgh, Cllr Robert Aldridge

On 27 May, Consul-General Katsutoshi Takeda paid a courtesy call on the Rt Hon Lord Provost of Edinburgh, Cllr Robert Aldridge, to introduce himself as a new Consul General.
During their meeting, the two leaders exchanged views on a wide range of topics. These included the friendship agreement between Kyoto Prefecture and the City of Edinburgh, the Edinburgh International Festival, and Scottish Opera's production "The Great Wave" scheduled to be performed in Glasgow and Edinburgh in February next year which is based on the later years of Katsushika Hokusai's life. As well as discussing ways to further deepen collaboration and cooperation between Japan and Edinburgh.
