Attending the launch of the Lord Provost’s Peace Garden marking the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

On Thursday 6th August, Consul General Katsutoshi Takeda attended the launch of the Lord Provost’s Peace Gardens to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, hosted by the Lord Provost of Glasgow, Jacqueline McLaren, at the Glasgow Botanic Gardens.
During the event, Consul General Takeda gave a speech before cutting the ribbon with Lord Provost McLaren. He and Lord Provost McLaren then planted a sapling grown from the seed of a Gingko tree that survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima.
