Tour of Mitsubishi Chemical UK Electrolyte Division

On Thursday September 18th, Consul General Katsutoshi Takeda visited the Mitsubishi Chemical UK Electrolyte Division located in Teesside, Northeast England. Electrolytes are a key component of lithium-ion batteries, alongsideanodes, cathodes, and separators. Presently, Mitsubishi has the only electrolyte factory in the UK with a current production capacity of 14,000 tons per year.
The realisation of a decarbonized society requires the widespread adoption of lithium-ion batteries used in Electric Vehicles (EVs) amongst other applications. Mitsubishi aims to contribute to a decarbonized society by strengthening and expanding its electrolyte business.
