Visit to Edinburgh College

On Thursday 23rd October, Cultural Consul Masataka Abe visited Edinburgh College’s Milton Road campus.
Edinburgh College is a large scale college with 4 campuses: Granton, Midlothian, Milton Road, and Sighthill. It offers 17 majors and over 700 courses, with students from 139 countries around the world receiving hands-on education to advance their studies and find employment.
On the day, Cultural Consul Abe met with Jonny Pearson, Vice Principal Education & Skills, Jakki Jeffery, Assistant Principal Curriculum, Jonathan Bennett, Head of School and Curriculum Team Leader for Music, and Jess Abrams, Module Leader and Lecturer, Community Music & Music Education and discussed collaboration on future events such as plans for students to visit Japan, and workshops about Japanese instruments through Japanese students. After that, there was a tour of the campus facilities, including a full-scale recording studio, a room with the latest audio equipment and a theatre.
