Visit to Durham university

On Wednesday 29th October, Cultural Consul Masataka Abe visited Durham University to meet with Mr Peter Bainbridge, International Partnerships Manager for the university. They exchanged views on the collaboration and cooperation between Durham University and Japanese companies, and also collaboration with Japanese universities, including the university’s participation in the RENKEI programme. As well as discussions on these topics, arrangements were also made for this year's Japanese film screening event which will take place at Durham University.
The film screening event is held annually by the Consulate General of Japan in Edinburgh in cooperation with various universities in the jurisdiction. Last year it was held in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh and the University of Stirling, and this year it is planned to be held in collaboration with Durham University as well. Details of the event will be announced through the Consulate’s social media pages shortly, so please keep an eye out.
