Visit to the overseas atomic bomb exhibition 'Remembered: Hiroshima and Nagasaki Exhibition' at the University of Edinburgh

On Friday 20th February, Consul General Katsutoshi Takeda visited the the overseas atomic bomb exhibition "Remembered: Hiroshima and Nagasaki Exhibition" being held at the University of Edinburgh.
This exhibition uses the displays from the overseas atomic bomb exhibition held from 6th October to 14th November last year at the University of Stirling, which was organised by the Nagasaki National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims.
Consul General Takeda viewed the exhibition under the guidance of Fumiko Narumi-Munro from the Japanese Studies Department of the university. The centrepiece of the exhibition was a display of a thousand origami cranes, created by students at a local high school. During the exhibition period, in addition to a lecture at the opening event by Dr Helen Parker from the same department, a workshop for making a thousand origami cranes was also held to allow participants to actively engage.
The exhibition at the University of Edinburgh will be held from 16th February to 31st March.
