2026/3/28
On Saturday 28th March, Consul General Katsutoshi Takeda visited Hampden Park in Glasgow, where an international friendly football match between the Japan national team and the Scotland national team was held, and encouraged Japan Football Association officials, including Kohzo Tashima, Honorary President and Masakuni Yamamoto, Technical Director and National Team Director.
The match was closely contested from the opening whistle, with Junya Ito securing the decisive goal in the second half, leading Japan to a 1-0 victory over Scotland.
This match was held as part of Japan's final tour of the United Kingdom before the announcement of the final squad for the FIFA World Cup in June. The Japanese national team is scheduled to face England in London on 31st March.
With the World Cup finals fast approaching, we look forward to the continued success of both the Japanese and Scottish national teams.
