Attendance at the Consular Corps Networking event for Scotland’s Higher Education

On Monday 30th March, Consul Masataka Abe attended the Consular Corps Networking event for Scotland’s Higher Education hosted by British Council Scotland and Universities Scotland.
On the day, Mr Harish Lokhun, Head of Education, British Council Scotland gave an overview and explanation of “Scotland’s Higher Education: Partnering for Global Impact”, which was followed by a data-driven presentation about the current state of higher education in Scotland by Dr David Donaldson, Senior Policy Officer, Universities Scotland, along with a lively Q&A session afterwards. Finally, Ms Claire de Braekeleer, Director of British Council Scotland talked about future prospects and other such topics.
Scotland has 19 universities with 30 campuses, and although some of them are already engaged in academic research exchange with Japanese universities, it is expected there will be more international cooperation in the future.
