Courtesy call on Dr Stuart Black, Chief Executive of Highlands and Islands Enterprise

On Tuesday 2nd June, Consul General Katsutoshi Takeda made a courtesy call on Dr Stuart Black, Chief Executive of Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) in Inveness.
On the day of the visit, the two discussed new investment projects by Japanese companies, including Sumitomo Electric Industries’ construction of a subsea cable manufacturing plant and the opening of its new office in Alness, as well as Maraen—a joint venture between Mitsui & Co. and MOL—owning and operating the Port of Nigg and constructing the Eastern Inner Dock Quay, a heavy-load berth capable of accommodating ultra-large offshore wind vessels. They agreed to continue working closely together moving forward.
