Attendance at Natsuo Kirino Talk Event

On Sunday 30th August, Cultural Consul Masataka Abe attended a talk at the Edinburgh International Book Festival which featured author Natsuo Kirino, who is one of Japan’s most famous authors, and president of Japan PEN Club. This event was made possible with the support of the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.
 
This year's Edinburgh International Book Festival included three events revolving around some of Japan's leading authors: Nao-Cola Yamazaki, Mieko Kawakami, and Natsuo Kirino. There was also a Noh performance held, offering a valuable opportunity to demonstrate the appeal of Japanese literature and traditional performance arts.
