Attendance at the STUDY in JAPAN - EAIE 2026 Glasgow

On Thursday 10th September, Consul General Katsutoshi Takeda attended the STUDY in JAPAN exhibition booth at the EAIE (European Association for International Education) 2026 conference in Glasgow.
The EAIE is a European organisation dedicated to international education exchange. Its annual conference, held in mid-September, is the largest convention of its kind in Europe, attracting approximately 7,000 participants from around the world.
Organised by the Japanese Association for the Study of International Education (JAFSA) in collaboration with the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), the STUDY in JAPAN joint exhibition booth brings together Japanese universities and educational institutions. It serves as a valuable platform to showcase the appeal of studying in Japan to representatives from overseas higher education institutions and to share the latest trends in Japanese higher education. The Consulate General of Japan in Edinburgh and Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) also provided their support for the initiative.
During the event, the following 16 universities and one organisation from Japan exhibited at the booth alongside JAFSA:

The venue was buzzing with excitement, featuring over 1,200 organisations and 250 booths from more than 100 countries. Meetings were taking place everywhere as participants sought to forge new partnerships and agreements, identifying potential new university partners while also following up with existing ones. The STUDY in JAPAN booth also saw a steady stream of visitors, giving one a sense of the expanding scope of international collaboration and the high level of global interest in Japanese higher education institutions. We hope this event serves as a catalyst for further international collaboration and academic exchange among Japanese higher education institutions.
