Attendance at Edinburgh University Japan Society “Japan Fest”

On Saturday 19th September, Cultural Consul Masataka Abe attended 'Japan Fest' organised by the Edinburgh University Japan Society. This event is held annually with the aim of fostering familiarity amongst the student body with Japan, welcoming new students who have just enrolled at the University of Edinburgh, and offering them a chance to socialise while enjoying sushi and sake.
The Consulate General’s Official Chef, Manabu Kida, showcased Japanese culinary culture through a live sushi-making demonstration, and guests were also treated to live calligraphy and guitar performances.
More than 90 participants attended, not only Japanese students, and it is hoped that interaction like this amongst those interested in Japan will contribute to further friendship and goodwill.
