Temporary Visitor Visa: Business/Conference/Short-term Study
1. Valid passport
2. Proof of valid UK Residence Permit/Entry Clearance, in one of the following formats:
i. Valid UK Entry Clearance / Indefinite Leave to Remain in passport (plus a photocopy).
ii. 'Share code' and 'Your immigration status' printout from https://www.gov.uk/view-prove-immigration-status, showing your name, ID photo, imigration status.
3. One completed and signed application form
* Citizens of Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine, Georgia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are required to submit TWO visa application forms and TWO identical passport-sized photographs.
4. One passport size photo (Taken within six months. Approx. 3.5 x 4.5 cm. UK passport size photo is acceptable)
5. Flight information for journey to and from Japan (if booked)
6. A letter from your employer or school/college in the UK to confirm your UK residence status
* This letter should be issued within three months of the time of visa application.
*If your company/university is paying for your travel expenses, this must be stated in the letter.
7. Original and one photocopy of UK bank statements for the past three months (If all your travel expenses are funded by your employer/inviter and also your purpose of visit is only attending conference/business meetings, these are not required)
* Applicant's name must be on the statements
* If you transfer funds from a savings account to a everyday current account, both statements are required.
8. Itinerary/schedule for the proposed trip (Sample)
If you are only attending a training course/conference/business meeting, you may submit the schedule prepared by the Japanese company/organiser instead of this form. However, if you intend to do sightseeing before/after the training course/conference/business meeting, this sheet is also required.

Important notes
- In some cases, additional documents may be required after you have submitted the above documents.
- In principle, the visa proceeding time is up to 5 working days from the day that the Consulate accepted the documents as a valid application.
- A temporary visitor visa is valid for 3 months from the date of issue. You need to enter Japan while your visa is valid. Once you have entered Japan, you may stay for 15/30/90 days (according to your visa) from the date of entry.
- Signature on the application form must be in ink pen. We do not accept digital signature.
- Photograph must be printed on a photographic paper. We do not accept the photograph if it is digitally altered.
