On 25th February,  Edinburgh’s Michelin star chefs from restaurants, 21212 and The Kitchin as well as leading figures from politics, hospitality, journalism and agricultural sectors guests from politics, hospitality, journalism and agricultural sectors, were welcomed at Consul General Takaoka’s official residence for a Wagyu beef promotional seminar and reception—held in collaboration ZEN-NOH Europe.

Following an introductory speech form the Consul General, the team at ZEN-NOH gave an introduction to the special characteristics of Japanese beef, followed by a live demonstration of how best to prepare the meat. During the demonstration guests were also encouraged to ask questions and share a professional discussion on Japanese beef. It was a great opportunity to learn about the similarities and differences between Wagyu and other High-end beef products like Angus.

Following the demonstration the Wagyu was expertly cooked for guests to sample traditional steak, Tataki and gyudon dishes. The event was also a great opportunity to enjoy Wagyu with Japanese draft beer kindly provided by Asahi Beer UK.
